Roles & Responsibilities Provide continuous airway management for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients with skill and compassion Manage invasive and non-invasive ventilators, including PB 980, PB 840, V60 and transport vents Perform advanced respiratory care interventions and support physician-directed respiratory plans Lead emergency respiratory responses and deliver high-quality CPR when needed Document patient care accurately using computerized charting systems and Pyxis medication workflows Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and continuity of care Educate patients and families on respiratory therapies and equipment in a clear, reassuring way Maintain compliance with facility policies, infection control, and employee health requirements Qualifications State of Hawaii Respiratory Therapy License required (must be active by assignment start) Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience, including care of adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications required RRT preferred NRP preferred Proof of flu vaccination or facility-approved medical or religious exemption required prior to contract start No first travel assignments (previous travel assignment experience required) Knowledge & Skills Strong ventilator management and non-invasive ventilation skills Airway management and advanced respiratory interventions Familiarity with PB 980, PB 840, V60, and ParaPac transport ventilators Proficient with computerized charting systems and Pyxis medication management Competent in pediatric, neonatal and adult respiratory care Excellent critical thinking, communication, and teamwork abilities Benefits Supportive team environment that values your skills and growth Licensure assistance and reimbursement to help you maintain credentials Paid time off opportunities so you can recharge on your days off Comprehensive onboarding and employee health clearance support Access to professional development and specialty training Travel assignment perks like local housing resources and relocation guidance Flexible scheduling conversations with the team to help balance life A chance to work with advanced ventilator technology and expand your clinical experience Travel Perks: Explore Hilo, HI Hilo sits on the lush side of Hawaii Island, so your off-duty hours can include waterfall hikes (Rainbow Falls and nearby cascades), exploring Hawaii Volcanoes National Park for dramatic volcanic landscapes, strolls through Liliuokalani Gardens, farmers markets with fresh tropical produce, black sand beaches for relaxing or snorkeling, and local cultural events celebrating island life.
