Job DescriptionPacific Quest is seeking a Resident Supervisor to
join the team in Hilo, HawaiiPrimary Purpose:Resident Supervisor's
primary responsibilities are student support and group management,
Guide development and risk management for the program through role
modeling and leadership in and out of the house. The position, by
its nature, is a residential shift that requires being "on-call" 24
hours a day and staying at the house / day facility during times of
increased risk. Flexibility is key as events dictate priorities and
in the moment independent decision making to ensure safe and sound
experience for the group is key. This position is 4 days on / 3
days off.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage all elements of assigned house / residential group
- Understand, manage and facilitate each student's weekly
outcomes, safety plans and medical, wellness plans and medication
self administration; Monitor residence / field (guide / student /
logistical) risk management
- Manage and assist student intake process as needed including:
- Overseeing outfitting process as assigned
- Preparing house team with applicable safety and intake
information
- Team supervision, training, and support, including
documentation of disciplinary action under-direction of Field
Management.
- Hold larger picture growth for Guide mentor team
- Training oversight and point person for Apprentice level
guides, including facilitation and documentation of 90-day
reviews
- Download, debrief and train guides as directed every
Thursday
- Coordinate and collaborate with the field management team for
all potential issues, and adult student sign-outs.
- Facilitate student outings and ensure the completion and
distribution of timely outing reviews
- Facilitate student movement to and from farm as needed:
Supervise Guides and students as needed during transports, ensure
team is safely set up to facilitate when not present
- Organize and manage student sleeping arrangements in house
- Account for and maintain communication devices (phones, radios,
laptops, etc) and keys for assigned house
- Work closely with nurse to oversee proper implementation of the
Pacific Quest medication self administration and wellness
programming
- Know and support use of growth books, manuals and training
guides. Develop the ability to ensure thorough, quality answers for
training questions at all levels.
- Know and support use of student curriculum
- Participation in debriefs and feedback with team as needed, at
least once a shift
- Work with primary clinicians to implement and supervise weekly
student goals and creative interventions
- Attend mandatory trainings as directed
- Understand, embrace and teach the guiding principles - HT, ROP,
Clinical Care, Community Living and be resources for guides in
regards to inservice trainings and mentorship
- Able to cover pre-AM and PM bunk medication administration
- Able to cover additional medication passes as needed
- Support field team implementation of collaborative practices to
support student wellness needs.Additional Duties:
- Fill in as needed for logistical and field needs, which could
include working in other capacities as needed, and assigned
- Participate in the review process at the 90-day, 6-month, and
1-year marks
- Mandated overtime is required if relief staff does not show up
for shift
- Additional duties as assignedSkills/Qualifications:
- Industry experience and experience working with adolescents and
young adults of a similar population
- Experience in supervision and able to work with students in
crisis
- Experience with crisis prevention
- Ability to treat all residents and coworkers with dignity and
respect
- Ability to adhere to confidentiality policies
- Ability to drive manual vehicles preferred
- Maintain valid CPR (from a classroom training) and First Aid
certification
- Maintain current CPI certification (provided by Pacific Quest),
as well as assist CPI instructor with training courses
- Basic computer skills
- Requires ability to be a team player to form mutually
respectful relationship with staff and students to grow
professionally in meeting the challenges of this position
- Able to work with a team of professionals and the ability to
work independently
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe
manner
- Able to lean into challenge and give 100% while at work
- Must have valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Must be 25 years or older in order to meet Company auto
insurance requirements

- On call status 24-hours a day per shift, some positions are
required to stay on site overnight
- Flexible with operational needs
- Some flexibility in the workday when there is no crisis, but
generally 6:30am- 9:00pm with interspersed breaks throughout the
day, when possible
- Circumstances such as student escalations, outfittings, and
emergencies can dictate the working hours
- Work location may adjust as operational needs dictatePhysical
Demands:With or without reasonable accommodation, the physical and
mental requirements of this job may include the following: seeing,
hearing, speaking, and writing clearly. Occasional reaching with
hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, frequent
sitting, standing and walking, may be required for long periods of
time and may involve climbing stairs, walking up inclines and on
uneven terrain. Additional physical requirements may include,
frequent lifting and or moving up to 50 pounds. Field team members
may be on their feet for various amounts of time during the course
of their 10-12 hour shift. Emergencies may require sprinting and
energy intensive movements to ensure resident safety.
