Roles & Responsibilities Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to medical and surgical patients across units Administer and manage wound care, including Wound VAC therapy Manage chest tubes and other unit-specific procedures with confidence and attention to detail Float between Medical, Laulima (surgical acute), and Cardiovascular units as needed to meet patient needs Document assessments, interventions, and care plans accurately in Meditech EMR Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support safe patient flow and effective care transitions Maintain professional nursing standards, participate in unit orientation, and keep certifications current Qualifications Active Hawaii RN license required by start of assignment 2-10 years of nursing experience (per job requirements) BLS and ACLS required Preferred certifications: PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, ENPC Comfortable floating between units and adapting to variable patient ratios Proof of immunity required; medical and religious exemptions will not be accepted Knowledge & Skills Strong Med-Surgical nursing knowledge Wound care expertise, including Wound VAC use Chest tube management skills Proficient with Meditech EMR and Pyxis medication systems Ability to prioritize, triage, and manage multiple patients on 12-hour night shifts Adaptability to float between units and learn unit-specific workflows Benefits Supportive team that values you and the care you deliver Licensure assistance and help getting your Hawaii RN license in place Flexible scheduling to help you balance life and work Paid orientation to get you comfortable on each unit Opportunities to expand skills across medical, surgical, and cardiovascular units Assistance with travel logistics and local onboarding Professional development support and encouragement to maintain certifications A workplace that prioritizes patient safety, respect, and teamwork Travel Perks: Explore Hilo, HI Hilo on the Big Island is a paradise for outdoor lovers.
