Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) for a contract assignment in a community emergency department. The ideal candidate is highly adaptable, able to multitask efficiently, and capable of working independently while providing high-quality emergency care to patients of varying acuity levels. Contract & Schedule Details - Assignment Length: 15-week contract - Shifts: Variable 8- or 12-hour shifts - Hours: Scheduled 80 hours per 2-week pay period - On-Call: One on-call shift per roster - Weekends: At least one weekend off per roster - Holiday Coverage: Required - Number of Openings: 1 Key Responsibilities - Deliver comprehensive nursing care in a fast-paced emergency department - Perform rapid patient assessments and initiate appropriate interventions - Participate in Stroke, STEMI, and Trauma activations - Demonstrate strong multitasking skills and independent clinical judgment - Maintain compliance with core measures and National Patient Safety Goals - Provide patient-centered care using AIDET principles and strong customer service practices - Accurately document patient care using the facility’s EMR - Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to support optimal patient outcomes Equipment & Technology - Meditech EMR - Lifepak Defibrillators - Braun IV Pumps - Philips Monitoring Systems - Motorola Radio Systems Licensure & Experience Requirements - Active Hawaii Registered Nurse (RN) license required by start of assignment - Travelers without an active HI license must apply upon offer acceptance - Minimum of 2 years of recent Emergency Room experience - Proficient IV skills required Required Certifications - BLS (Basic Life Support) - ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) Preferred Certifications - NCI - Procedural Sedation Floating - Floating is determined by nursing administration - Nurses will only float to units where they are clinically competent Please note: Only candidates who meet all minimum qualifications and required certifications will be considered.
