Job Description Compunnel Healthcare is seeking a travel nurse RN Pediatrics OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in Hilo, Hawaii. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Pediatrics OR - Operating Room - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 07/21/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel License Requirement: • All travelers must possess an active Hawaii RN license by the start of the assignment. • If not currently licensed in Hawaii, candidates must apply for licensure upon offer acceptance. Unit Description: • 34-bed adult surgical unit. • Focused on pre- and post-operative care for a range of surgical procedures. General Job Duties & Required Procedures: • Perform standard RPN III duties with a focus on surgical pre- and post-operative care. • Care for patients recovering from procedures such as laparoscopic cholecystectomy/appendectomy, mastectomy, thyroidectomy, and those requiring chest tubes or surgical drains. Equipment Used: • Vital signs monitors • IV and PCA pumps • Workstations on Wheels (WOWs) with EMR charting • Pyxis medication system Required Skills & Experience: • Minimum of 2 years of recent experience as an RPN III • Proficiency in pre/post-op surgical nursing care • Strong clinical and critical thinking skills Licensure & Certifications: • BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) – Required Schedule & Shift Requirements: • Three 12-hour shifts per week Floating Requirements: • May be required to float to other units within the facility Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: • Typically 1:5–6 Compunnel Healthcare Job ID M-287504-MY.
