No guarantee of hours. -Proof of Influenza Vaccination or Exception Required:All candidates must provide documentation of flu vaccination or submit a facility-approved application for a medical or religious exemption prior to the contract start date. The influenza vaccine may be administered during the employee health clearance appointment.Position Summary: Flex RN (Medical/Surgical Float Pool)General Job Duties / Procedures:The Flex RN will float between various medical and surgical units, providing nursing care and support where needed. Responsibilities include monitoring patient status, administering medications, managing wounds and chest tubes, and documenting care in the electronic medical record (EMR).Schedule Details:
  • Shift Length: 12-hour shifts
  • Shift Times: Days - 0645 to 1915
  • Weekly Hours: Scheduled for 36 hours/week following the first week of orientation
  • Note: There is no guarantee of hoursEquipment Utilized:
    • Meditech Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
    • Pyxis medication dispensing system
    • Wound vacuums
    • Chest tube management equipmentExperience Requirements:
      • Minimum of 2 years, up to 10 years of relevant nursing experienceLicensure and Certifications:
        • Required: BLS (Basic Life Support)
        • Preferred: ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), Procedural Sedation Certification, TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course), ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)Floating Requirements:
          • May float to the following units:
            • Medical Unit
            • Laulima Unit (Surgical Acute)
            • Cardiovascular Unit (rare occasions)Unit Information:
              • Medical Unit: 77 beds
              • Laulima (Surgical Acute) Unit: 18 beds
              • Cardiovascular Unit: 15 bedsNurse-to-Patient Ratios:
                • Medical Unit:
                  • Days/Evenings: 1:6
                  • Nights: 1:8
                  • Laulima Unit: 1:6
                  • Cardiovascular Unit: 1:4Note: Ratios may vary due to unexpected staff absences.Dress Code:
