Hilo Medical Center, Nuclear Medicine Department - Hilo, Hawaii - 100% Full Time With Benefits Salary: $84,464 per year *Relocation assistance negotiable* *$5,000 Retention Bonus* Our Nuclear Medicine team provides 100 plus exams per month on our new Siemens Symbia whole body camera, soon to be joined by a second Symbia cardiac only camera. As a remote location for radio pharmaceuticals, our technologists manage their own bulk dose generator and prepare each patient dose. Our team provides services from 6am to 7pm with no call. Benefits: 13 paid holidays each year (14 during election years) 21 paid vacation days per year 21 paid sick days per year Medical, dental, vision, and prescription plans Education: Bachelor's degree from an approved program recognized by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). Excess work experience as described below in the experience requirement section which provided knowledge, skills and abilities comparable to those acquired in four (4) years of successful study while completing a college or university curriculum leading to a baccalaureate degree in may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis. To be acceptable, the experience must have been of such scope, level and quality as to assure the possession of comparable knowledge, skills and abilities. Imaging Experience: One and one-half (1--) years of progressively responsible professional imaging technologist/specialist experience which demonstrated a thorough knowledge of imaging procedures and/or techniques such as myelograms, discograms, arthrograms, etc., including the X-raying of such areas of the human anatomy as the chest, skull, gastro-intestinal tract, urinary tract, and vascular system. Specialized Experience: One (1) year of progressively responsible professional work experience as a specialist in one of the following modalities; angiography, cardiac catheterization, computed tomography, echocardiography, mammography, magnetic resonance imaging, nuclear medicine, radiation therapy, ultrasound, or vascular in a clinical or hospital environment. Certification: A current American Registry of Radiologic Technologist - ARRT (N) or NMTCB HI Nuclear Medicine License. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within six (6) months of employment. Current certification in BLS Health Care Provider (adult, child and infant) is preferred. Licensure: Hawaii Nuclear Medicine License - A current license to practice as a certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist in the State of Hawaii. Substitution of Experience for Education: Successful completion of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology with a certificate or associate degree and two (2) years of professional radiologic experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree. Excess work experience as described under the Imaging or Specialized Experience Requirement which provided knowledge, skills and abilities comparable to those acquired in four (4) years of successful study while completing a college or university curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree may be substituted on a year-for-year basis. Any other responsible professional work experience; which provided knowledge, skills and abilities comparable to those acquired in four (4) years of successful study while completing a college or university curriculum leading to a baccalaureate degree may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis. To be acceptable, the experience must have been of such scope, level and quality as to assure the possession of comparable knowledge, skills and abilities. Substitution of Experience: Excess work experience as described under the Specialized Experience Requirement may be substituted for Imaging Experience on a year-for-year basis. Must be available to work shifts, weekends and holidays as necessary based on hospital operations. MEDICAL/PHYSICAL EXAMINATION REQUIREMENT: Offers of employment will be contingent on successfully passing a pre-employment examination, which includes drug screen and other regulatory medical requirements such as, but not limited to, two-step tuberculosis (TB) screen. The cost for physical examinations, except the cost for drug screening, shall be borne by the applicant and not the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation. COVID-19 VACCINATION REQUIREMENT: COVID-19 vaccination is a condition of employment for Hawaii Health Systems Corporation. After receiving a conditional offer of employment, all prospective new HHSC employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. New employees are required to provide confirmation of their full vaccination status by presenting their CDC vaccination card or VAMS Certificate prior to their start date.
